Great machine!!!
This is such a great little machine if you are looking for a non-computerized machine. The only con for me (and it is not a big one) is it does not have the needle up/down feature. Nice even stitches, very easy to operate, and relatively quite. Also, the instruction manual is very easy to understand. I would recommend this machine to anyone who does not want all the bells and whistles and headaches of a computerized machine. This is such a great little machine if you are looking for a non-computerized machine. The only con for me (and it is not a big one) is it does not have the needle up/down feature. Nice even stitches, very easy to operate, and relatively quite. Also, the instruction manual is very easy to understand. No Right Straight stitch
The Needle does not go all the way to the right for a straight stitch.. I've never had a sewing machine that didn't offer this feature. I have to purchase a new foot to accommodate this issue.

Excellent heavy duty machine
I like this heavy duty sewing machine. The aluminum base feels great and adds a bit more weight to the machine so it doesn't vibrate when sewing. The black hd1000 also comes with additional accessories which are a great value, the waking foot, Teflon foot, 2 patterns, stickers and a hard cover. The white HD1000 looks great but I think the accessories really adds value to this package; although the machine is stunning in black. Would buy this again, especially if you need a basic machine that can handle any project such as quilting or bag making. I like this heavy duty sewing machine. Janome is slipping badly

Love Janome
I bought my last Janome 20 years ago. Love it still. This one is almost the same model with 20 years of improvements. I need it to take with me to classes and events as well as sewing at home. If it's anywhere near as good as my old one, It's a winner. Light weight, compact, works extremely well and looks great.
