Synopsis
Shel Silverstein, the New York Times bestselling author of The Giving Tree , A Light in the Attic , Falling Up , and Every Thing On It, has created a poetry collection that is outrageously funny and deeply profound. Come in . . . for where the sidewalk ends, Shel Silverstein's world begins. You'll meet a boy who turns into a TV set, and a girl who eats a whale. The Unicorn and the Bloath live there, and so does Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout who will not take the garbage out. It is a place where you wash your shadow and plant diamond gardens, a place where shoes fly, sisters are auctioned off, and crocodiles go to the dentist. Shel Silverstein's masterful collection of poems and drawings stretches the bounds of imagination and will be cherished by readers of all ages. This is a collection that belongs on everyone's bookshelf. Makes a great gift for special occasions such as holidays, birthdays, and graduation. Overall, yes, it’s a readable book. It would’ve been nice to have photos of the actual book listed so I could’ve seen the exact quality I was getting because it is a little less than expected.

The book was missing it's jacket, the picture shown was a bit misleading. The first few pages had a lot of writing in them. Overall the book is still readable and my six year old loves it.

Not what expected. But decent. Almost every page is colored and the outside is old and brown and stained, not white like the photo. Still decent and able to read.

    Great Children's book!

I bought this book for my grandchildren to replace my sons original book that I bought him 35 years ago. The stories and poems are short and funny to keep elementary school age children's attention. I began by reading the stories to my 6 year old son, he loved them so much, by the end of the school year he was reading them to me. My son was thrilled I found the book for his children so we can continue the tradition.

  • I got the about The highlighting in the photos of the book 📚

Go to cement the book has life in it and someone else is ready I myself have read library books and I bought them and that someone enjoyed them I’d rather buy used books means you’re giving me an old soul I rather have a new book that’s why I like buying from eBay things that have been used at the Best

  • Interesting

I bought it as a Christmas gift for my daughter, she remembered reading it in school and loved it. She has been looking for it at garage, estate and book sales so she could show it to a friend of hers who never read it. I am looking forward to her opening it on Christmas Day.
