The Sony DVP-NS501P is a progressive scan DVD player that features several options including surround sound. Progressive scan enables this Sony DVD player to provide improved video output by smoothing incoming source video. Media formats compatible with this DVD player with surround sound include DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD-VR, and DVD in addition to CD, JPEG/MP3, and CD-R/RW. The Sony DVP-NS501P comes with multiple input and output options including digital coaxial cable output, audio-visual line out, component video output, and an S-Video output. Sound for the Sony DVD player can be played in standard stereo playback or in Dolby Digital or DTS surround sound. This DVD player with surround sound is compatible with NTSC standards. Front-facing controls allow the user to adjust settings, skip tracks, play, pause, and perform other functions. A remote is included with the DVD player. This Sony DVD player measures 17 inches wide by 2.75 inches high by 9.35 inches deep.
