The return of the movie musical!
This Hollywood adaptation of the classic Broadway musical sparkles with glamour and reverberates with the energy of good, old-fashioned song and dance. As the film leaps into its first riveting act, Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones), one half of the famous number she performs with her sister, arrives at the night club late, disheveled, and with blood on her hands. Nonetheless, she goes onstage unhindered and wows the crowd with her shimmying rendition of "All That Jazz." Roxie Hart (Renee Zellweger) a young blond who dreams of someday being famous like Velma, watches from the audience with eyes full of envy. Later, as the cops pick up Velma for the murder of her sister, sending her fame to all-time heights as she becomes a tabloid sensation, Roxie also commits a crime of ... That word makes sense… the combination of fine acting, excellent and experienced plot, fantastic singing and dancing makes for a ‘dazzling performance.’ Chicago was the IT movie and DVD of 2002 and certainly will have staying-power and should be a staple of any standard DVD collection. I love Fosse and this mucical adaptation was no disappointment. Excellent, tightly wound performances with no draggy sections. All the actors were up to the demands of their roles and did their darndest!. A truly entertaining experience with memorable music.!! Many stars from this reviewer!!!****

Zeta-Jones, Zellweiger, Latifah & Gere were fantastic!!
The storyline, the music and the dancing were great. All the stars did an excellent job. Richard Gere's tapdancing scene knocked me out!! He must be a professional dancer. The songs and music were nothing short of majestic. A must-see, especially for Broadway musical lovers.

Great movie! The movie was well done and the music was great! Can't wait to see it again sometime. The movie had a lot of great scenes that were entertaining. I especially liked the puppet scene.
