Nice to recall the early days of the MS juggernaut. There was simply no one else like her at the time. Unapologetically dazzling cooking, crafting, and entertaining.

This is one of the first holiday books produced by Martha Stewart in the 1980s when everything was just starting for her new taste maker career. As a fan of her ideation in decorating, this book lacks the luster and high quality her later books promise. The printing itself is okay, the photography lacks the high level her later books have - many photos are blurry and not very crisp. It may be also due to lack of digital photography at this time. The format of the creative direction is mediocre. Only the writing is a bit above it. It shows the metamorphic beginning of her great talents. Just not there yet in this book. I would not recommend. You will be disappointed as most every photo is not memorable and overall the book lacks the elegant glamor look she infuses later into her vintage renaissance of everything nostalgic and Americana.Read full review
