About this product

Product Information

Grand Prix rider, Margie Goldstein Engle is the star attraction at any horse show in which she competes, as well as a role model for a generation of young equestrians. Despite her parents' objections, young Margie worked odd jobs at stables in exchange for riding lessons, then proved her ability in the show ring on ponies and, later, on horses. Her first Grand Prix victory came in 1986 on Daydream, and was followed by notable blue-ribbon successes. The route to the top was not an easy one. Margie had to overcome financial challenges and a series of bone-breaking injuries that threatened to end her career. But thanks to her courage and tenacity, and the love and support of her family, sponsors and fans, she rebounded to increased prominence at the international level. No Hurdle too High will appeal to everyone, rider or not, who thrills to challenges and triumphs at the highest level.

  • Mothers Writing Books

For anyone who follows high-level grand prix jumping, Margie Goldstein Engle is right up there in the pantheon. So it was with enormous interest that I bought No Hurdle Too High -- not sure who this Mona Goldstein was but certain I wanted to know more about such a remarkable woman as Margie. Oh dear......Mona Goldstein turns out to be the admiring mother of Margie; a woman who made her career as a school teacher and who, presumably in later life, was convinced that she should be the one to write the book about her famous daughter. Indeed, Mrs. Goldstein even mentions in the introduction that she spent a lot of time in her writing group working the manuscript into shape. In truth, as anything more than a cheerful fan letter from a mother about her daughter, the work is lamentable. Mrs. ...

This book was fantastic, i loved it. The beginning was maybe a little slow but once it picked up, i couldnt put it down. It makes me want to go ride my horses all day long and be the best. Margie is amazing, I truly admire her courage, dedication and spirit, she is the best!

  • very helpful book

I like the idea of the book. It motivates the reader but the writer could explain some exercises, maybe the most favorites they used in getting successful.
