Callie Rousseau Brown grew up in the town of Boynton Beach Florida when it was still called Boynton. She tells the story of the little town by the Atlantic and the Everglades nearby in the first decades of the last century, when she was a child. Callie moves through the roaring twenties, Depression and World War II as a 38-year teacher and talks about the descendants of her father and mother--100 people all born in this woman's lifetime. Wild rides on sand roads, home-made elixers, the old pump and wood stove and hurricanes which had no warnings--these are the stories of the book this woman of almost 100 years has told.
