Published in 1942 with the title Damals, this album is aimed at enhancing the reputation of the SS-Totenkopf-Division, a rather unusual motorized Waffens-SS formation whose nucleus had been shaped with concentration camp guards, the sadly famous ss-Totenkopfverb nde. Evidence is provided through text and photos that in 1940, on the battlefields of France, this division displayed the same worth as the best Wehrmacht divisions. Eric Lef vre has added a historical account of the unit and a biography of its commander SS-Gruppenf hrer Eicke to the original facsimile. Each of the 89 photos and each text forms the subject of remarks and necessary annotations by the same writer. Eric Lef vre is a well-known specialist of the WWII German Amy.     I'm once again not disappointed by a WW2 book from Histore et Collections.

    I've been looking for detailed info on all forces involved with the Battle for France 1940. This was the first blooding of The Totenkopf Division in battle. I like the publisher Histore et Collections. I have a number of their other WW2 books and they are all professionally written. Extensive photos and research. The writers and publisher are all located in France and seem to have extensive access to source materials related to WW2.
