This is similar to playing collectible card games such as Magic, but using a baseball format. Each minigame is 6 cards and each card has a defensive action and offensive action. So after the the first card is laid, the opponent plays a card that can counter it and then the other person would play a card right back that can counter the offensive plays from the opponents card. Teams improve each minigame via immediate draft (which is a better card that goes on top of your deck for the next game. The head-to-head, reaction-to-action format style of gameplay makes it thrilling to the last card. I also love the expansion cards containing references to some of my favorite players. There are hybrids like Ichiro Matsui, Pete Biggio and Rollie Quisenberry.Read full review

You don't have to be a baseball "expert" to play, it helps to know the game some, but isn't absolutely necessary.
