The second category includes methods intended primarily for assessing the condition of existing structures or measuring properties other than strength. These include magnetic/electrical, radioactive/nuclear, radar, stress wave propagation, infrared thermography, and acoustic emission methods. The handbook is intended for concrete technologists, engineers, and students who need the latest information regarding available methods for quality control or in-service investigations of concrete structures.
