This is one concert I am thrilled to have in my collection. The distinctive voices and instrumentation of Heart are captured beautifully. The pleasant surprise was the lack of the usual quick scenes that keep you from enjoying the skills of the artists. The videography is A+, lighting is perfect - quite a feat in a live concert. Having most recently watched Elton John THE RED PIANO Blu-ray, this Heart Blu-ray detail, crispness, color accuracy all far exceed the Elton John Blu-ray. That is likely partly due to the venue; the round stadium, the video screen all around made light control next to impossible for the RED PIANO. I bring that concert as a point of comparison. The reference standard Blu-ray I have seen is Paul Simon & Friends: Library of Congress Blu-ray. Heart - Alive in Seattle Blu-ray is just behind it, an extremely close second!! If you enjoy listening to Heart, you will enjoy this Alive in Seattle Blu-ray Disc recorded in 2008. It is a TRUE WINNER - A DELIGHT TO THE SENSES!!Read full review
Baby boomers and newbees will love this bluray disc in DTS HD performed live in Heart's hometown Seattle. Heart has survived the years and still sounds fresh and true to the original recordings. The new music on this disc is terrific and nobody - I MEAN NOBODY - does Led Zepplin like the Wilson sisters - NO JOKE. I love you Ann and Nancy. Thanks for so many years of unforgetable and much repeated music. This is background music to my life - you are inspired and have raised the bar for what I look for in music. See you in Wendover, Nevada. Imagine - 2000 seats and Heart!! Hurry back and rock the crap outta the little theatre in the middle of nowhere. Duane Dowden
I gave this 4 stars overall even though I wanted to give it 5 stars as my girlfriend loves it. She is a huge fan of Heart. I am a fan as well, just not over the top. The picture and show is great, however I am an audio/videofile. For a performance on dvd and Bluray for this matter (which provides both digital and 2 dts variations), I was not satisfied with the sound quality provided. Running this though my elaborate surround setup I expected it to, if you will, feel like I was there, as most surround concert formats can produce. While everything could be heard clearly, there was a faintness to various aspects of the recording. I do not feel like getting into more detail than this, though. If you like Heart, you'll love it. If you are anal about how everything looks/sounds, you may want to try a different video of theirs or skip all together if others were done by the same producers. Oh, and this performance is from around 2002. Many of the auctions have all different dates like 2006, 2008 etc.... do not believe them... Ann Wilson is still comparatively thin as to how she looks now-a-days.Read full review
If you're a Heart fan, you know this already. If not, the sheer artistic power of the sister's harmonies and Martin guitars is not describable in words. Then at other times, they just rock. Totally engaging. It would've been five stars if a higher bit rate audio track was on the blu-ray. Having said that, the DD track is still pretty good.

This is a decent concert of Heart. The sound is good and the imaging is wonderful. However there are some good songs missing from the lineup like "What about love" and "All I want to do is make love to you", which are songs I really like. "Alone" is played acoustically which for me as a hard rock fan don't really like that. I like the original rock version. It does get kind of boring at times. This is a good concert of Heart but not a great one. The Wilson sisters still sound great voice wise. Such great bagpipes on those girls!
