Best Dual Core upgrade for a G41 machine
I used this to upgrade a 10 year old e-Machines Celeron PC which was performing awful. According to benchmarks this cpu scored about 40% better than the Celeron E3400 that it was running. The computer is used for regular office tasks as well as web browsing. Adding this CPU and increasing the RAM to 4GB made an abismal difference, it runs extremely smooth now. A really inexpensive way to give new life to a system. 100% Recommended, however if your motherboard supports core 2 quads then you should definitely go for one of those instead, they perform much better than this and the cost is not much higher, but keep in mind those need higher voltages and better cooling.I used this to upgrade a 10 year old e-Machines Celeron PC which was performing awful. Excelent processor for OC
Where can I begin about the Intel Core 2 Duo E8500? This processor is absolutely amazing. At stock speeds it blasts on the other Dual Core chips and puts up a noble fight with the Quad Core Q6600. Overclocked, this thing is a beast. I mean just look at the scores, it smokes the competition without even acknowledging that they were there. On the overclocking this has to be by far the easiest chip to overclock especially when paired up with Intel's X38 chipset. The Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 is based on the LGA 775 pin configuration and features a 3.16GHz clock speed, 6MB L2 Cache, and a 1333MHz bus speed. The E8500 is manufactured using the 45nm manufacturing process for better performance and cooling. Overclocking this chip has been a pure pleasure. I was able to push the Intel Core 2 ... At 4.322GHz I was able to complete SuperPI, Orthos Prime and all of the benchmarks with no problems at all. Is it as good as a Quad Core? Close, but not quite close enough, but for those that are not wanting to spend the money to jump into the Quad Core field, then the E8500 is for you. It gives you the best Dual Core performance for not a lot of money. This is a great processor for anyone from a hardcore gamer to a business professional needing the power for those multi-tasking programs. And if you are an overclocking enthusiast like myself, you will not be disappointed with the headroom that the Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 provides. Pros: * Overclocking ability * Stock performance is outstanding * Half multiplier for fine tuning on the overclocking * 6MB of L2 Cache * 45nm Manufacturing Process Cons: * Socket LGA775 is going out and many motherboard manufacturers are not making any new chipsets for it.

Cheap Upgrade for Aging PC
This was an easy and cheap way to upgrade a seven year old Dell pc. I determined which cpus would work with our particular model and searched ebay and found a lot of options to choose from. It was easy and quick to install and worked perfectly.

A dual core CPU that breaks 7.X on the Windows 7 Experience Index!!
I bought this CPU with the hope of finding a dual core CPU that would deliver 7.X performance on the Windows 7 Experience Index rating... I'd never found a dual core CPU, Intel or AMD, that could score above 6.9, even overclocked. Well, that's fixed now. 7.0 at 416MHz X 9.5 (3.953GHz) FSB=1666MHz Vcore=1.28 Air cooled. Without doubt the finest CPU I've ever owned, for $99.00 used on Ebay

A great performing processor for the money
