I enjoyed the 1993 theatrical version of the novel so I wanted to see how this television adaptation handled the material. It is superb. The lead actors are excellent, the production and costume design are first-rate, and the camerawork and music are moody and enveloping.

Very different show. Definitely entertaining.

This tale of Edward Rochester prior to Jane Eyre is interesting but lacking in the perception of love but for lust. One can only imagine his sincerity at the time of marriage. The time frame of marriage vs an understanding of his wife's madness evolved much too quickly. More time should have been spent in developing the relationship between the two characters.
I can't say confindently that i didn't like this version, but i can't say also that i liked it. I found this movie frustrated, because i couldn't understand the all story, if i hadn't read the book. Although i liked music and landscape of the film. Unfortunately, nothing much of histrionics.
I HAVE WATCHED THE ORIGINAL VERSION A LONG TIME AGO AND I THROGHT THAT IS WHAT I WAS PURCHASING BUT IS A FAR CRY FROM THE ORIGINAL ALL THE SEXUAL CONTENTS WERE CUT OUT WHICH MADE IT BLAND IN MY OPINION. THE BRITISH VERSION LACK GRAPHICS AND THE CHARACTERS WERE MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL IN THE ORIGINAL VERSION.
