Reviews
(VG): Computer Crime is part of Enslow's series, Issues In Focus, and, like the other titles in the series, is a well-researched examination of a subject currently in the news. Karen Judson has carefully documented her narrative on computer crime in six pages of chapter notes. Her research is up-to-date; most sources cited are from the 1990s. There is a four-page glossary of terms, a one-page suggested reading list with recently published titles, and a page of suggested websites that further explain this interesting subject. Judson has written a very readable book and it is one that students will find interesting reading and a valuable source for research into this dark side of technology. My only criticism was the inclusion of one chapter called 'Computerizing Society,' which gave a history of computers. It was so different from the focus of the rest of the book and felt like an unnecessary bit of 'filler.', Appraisal Spring/Summer/Fall 2000 (Librarian)

  • International computer crime - often forgotten

This is a relatively basic book (2000 edition) about computer crime - perfect for a boss or for teaching an into class - using this book as a historical basis. The various computer crimes are identified as well as the current-as-of-printing US penalties. However - it does not go into much depth about international computer crimes. There are a few examples of interesting historical information on computer crimes and how they were solved. Get a copy of this very good resource!
