Product Information

A faded movie star (Bill Murray) and a neglected young woman (Scarlett Johansson) form an unlikely bond after crossing paths in Tokyo. Directed by Sofia Coppola. Bob Harris (Bill Murray) and Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson) are two Americans in Tokyo. Bob is a middle-aged movie star in town to shoot a commercial, while Charlotte is a young woman tagging along with her workaholic husband (Giovanni Ribisi). Unable to sleep, Bob and Charlotte cross paths by chance and soon strike up a surprising friendship. They venture together through Tokyo's nightlife, having often hilarious encounters with its citizens, and ultimately discover a new belief in life's possibilities. Directed by Sofia Coppola, Lost in Translation is an original, intelligent and wonderfully touching comedy.

    Thoroughly entertaining with solid acting by the two leads.

    Great to see Bill Murray in a serious role for a change. The chemistry between him and Scarlett Johansson is warmly engaging; a breath of fresh air. And the last scene , when he whispers in her ear.......

    If you love great story lines and good cinema, Buy it.

    Some movies are a "must have in my collection". This production is a definite must have. Great script, great actors, but of course, most of what Bill touches turns to gold! I had to buy this and have never regretted doing so. Watchable over and over again for its story. One of the few where "hollywood sex" does'nt "make" the film.
