Amazing is all I can say about this little dynamo! I have it matched as a pre-amp playing through a vintage Ultrasound 60 watt powered speaker cab.It has a full sound, reminds me of the Ampeg flip-top amps of the 60's.Punchy with low end growl. I also played it through a 10" passive ported bass enclosure and found it to be fine for practice. My next test will be to use as a pre-amp into our main p.a. system at a few venues. Happy I bought it and would highly recommend.

I bought the Hotone speaker with it. The only way that I could get any volume at all was to crank the drive and the volume all the way up and I get overdrive. Either that or the speaker just distorts. I have not had a chance to try a different speaker. But it is cute and it does work.

What a fantastic sounding little amp!!! I was impressed the moment I powered it up! It is dead quiet on idle! When I started to play, a broad smile came to my face. This little 5 watt wonder sounds excellent!!! I'm playing a Peavey bass through this amp into a 10" Goldwood musical instrument speaker mounted in a Goldwood MDF subwoofer cabinet and it sounds amazing!!! I'm totally pleased and just want to keep playing! I'm a beginner so this setup is perfect for someone just starting out who doesn't want to spend a bundle on a student/practice amp.

Nice little amp for small venue or home studio recording where you want to use a mic to cabinet technique. Mine powers a 12 inch organ speaker in an organ case converted to a workstation. More than loud enough and would be fine with a small cab in an open mic or other small gig setting. Not sure it would hang with acoustic drums with someone heavy on the sticks though

Much louder than you would you would expect for 5 watts. I have used it both with 1x15 and 4x10 cabinets and it much louder than I would ever need in my house. The drive is a nice feature that does an OK job of emulating a driven tube amp. I do wish the headphone output had a speaker emulation effect on it.

I wanted to have a little bass head that I could use in the office during lunch time to practice for gigs and a general escape. I have had the Hotone cabinet for a while so I decided to take the leap and add this. For starters, it has a decent tone, but where I was really surprised was when I connected it to my larger cabinet. It has a very warm and recordable tone... glad to have it!

I got this for a headphone amp and pedalboard platform. I have a bass pedalboard with 7 pedals. I tried plugging it both into the front of the amp, (no modulation or time-based pedals,) and into the fx loop. Sounded weak and thin. If you turn up the gain on the amp, it really sounds terrible! When I tried it with my bass plugged directly into it, the volume with headphones was ver low. There are countless options to this.

The unit is tiny but high quality. Powerful enough to drive my 15" cabinet as loud as I want it. It actually does have an Ampeg kind of tone.

Good for recording or with headphones but it has a little too much distortion with the gain up and trying to driving a speaker cab. But it is pretty amazing what it can put out for 5 watts and it's size.

Since I only use it for practice & use headphones instead of a cabinet, it does the job. Haven’t tried it under any other applications. But I like what I hear so that’s a positive. I didn’t realize it was SO small but that doesn’t bother me. Worth the price to me.
