Im heutigen Neutraubling - bis zum Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs dem Fliegerhorst Obertraubling - befand sich zwischen Februar und April 1945 ein Aussenlager des Konzentrationslagers Flossenburg. Etwa 600 mannliche Haftlinge, die Halfte von ihnen Juden, die meist aus den Vernichtungslagern im Osten auf sogenannte Todesmarsche geschickt worden waren, mussten hier unter unmenschlichen Bedingungen arbeiten. Ein grosser Teil von ihnen uberlebte jene 58 Tage, die das Lager bestand, nicht: Die ausgezehrten und voellig entkrafteten Menschen verhungerten, erlagen den Anstrengungen der Zwangsarbeit oder wurden von der SS ermordet. Lange war das Thema KZ in Obertraubling und Neutraubling ein Tabu. Nun hat sich ein Schulprojekt dieses dunklen Flecks in der Geschichte beider Orte angenommen. Ehemalige Haftlinge, die noch heute in den USA leben, halfen zudem, ein umfassendes Bild des Lagers zu zeichnen. Im Fokus steht auch die schwierige Erinnerungskultur in den betroffenen Gemeinden. * Die Autorin: Dr. phil. Heike Wolter, geboren 1976, studierte Germanistik, Geschichte, Sozialkunde und Ethik. Sie lebt als Gymnasiallehrerin, Lektorin und Autorin bei Regensburg. Gemeinsam mit 15 engagierten SchulerInnen beleuchtete sie im Rahmen des P-Seminars Geschichte 2011 die Ereignisse rund um das Aussenlager Obertraubling des Konzentrationslagers Flossenburg und das Gedenken daran. www.heikewolter.de
