Mr Tuffy 4XL FatBike Tire Liner

My third pair now, to go onto my new fat tired electric mid-drive bike. The second pair has proven to be a winner for the type of riding I do, which is mainly on canal towpath trails and asphalt roadway shoulders. The first pair of Mr Tuffy's were bought years ago for my Trek mountain bike. Those tires gave me years of trouble, no-flats service. Last spring, my Specialized Fatboy was getting holed by small sticker thorns on the local canal towpath, on consecutive rides; which really got to be very old. As I did not want to go through the trouble and mess of going tubeless, I went back to the tried and true Mr Tuffy's for the Fatboy 4.6 inch ground controls. The first ride, is was clear there was a bit more mass and rolling weight, but that feeling went away as I got familiarized with the ...

  • Top critical review

    Pricey

Very expensive for a piece of silicon. Just like bicyle tires cannot justify the size to a car tire and be more expensive with 1/50 the amount of material used. Then you have to buy these liners to try and prevent flats.

  • Tire Liner For My Fat Bike

I only have 50 miles so far on these liners but expect that they will offer good flat protection around here from the usual suburban debris (no goat's heads growing around here). My tires are 4" so these covered the tire bottoms and a little of the side walls. As with all Mr Tuffy liners, they are a bit awkward to install and keep in position. But one time doing this may save many flats so it is worth the effort.

  • So far so good

Put them on my 26 x 5 fat bike tires and riding around no flat yet. Lots of goat heads around my house haven't taken it on a trail yet. I know it won't stop all flats but hoping to reduce number of flats. Took my tires off to install and inflated inner tube a bit to hold liner in and then installed on rim, pretty easy.

  • I hope works better....
