Product Information
The second Shrek-licensed game for GameCube is a multiplayer affair in the tradition of Nintendo's Mario Party series. Up to four players select characters from the DreamWorks computer-animated movie before participating in an interactive board game. Landing on certain spaces triggers one of 30 mini-games -- some competitive, some cooperative -- for the right to earn drops of bug juice. The first person to reach 100 drops wins the game. The six available characters include Shrek, Princess Fiona, Lord Farquaad, Monsieur Hood, Thelonius, and Donkey.<br><br>Shrek: Super Party also features five boards to compete on, each representing a locale from the movie. Two modes of play include Tournament, where players alternate turns moving around the board before participating in a mini-game, and Skirmishes, which focuses solely on the activities. Featured games include "Dragon's Breath," where players attempt to outrun the flying creature's flames, "Lily Pad Leap," a test to see who can last the longest on a pond without sinking, a cooperative game of "Castle Crumble," and firing vegetables from a catapult in "Food Fling." A sherkctrifying experience
Bought this game out of pure nostalgia. Played this originally on the very first xbox and remembered having a blast. That xbox broke down long ago ,hence why I got it for the gamecube. Now to the game, it is NOT that fun to play by one's self but is great with 2-3 more players. The graphics are somewhat dated but is not important as one who seeks older games would know. Gameplay is different when compared to mario party surprising seeing as this is inspired from it. Instead of dice you throw a ball and land on random events. A good portion of the mini games are fun but some are boring for example all the mini games from the swamp. But as I played more with others I remembered why the child me enjoyed this and to put it simply its a wacky game with a fun and competitive/strategic bug swap mechanic. Even if you get a loosing streak in the mini games you cant help but laugh with others for the characters ridiculous chibi heads bobbing about. For me this game is a window in time for when things were simpler and fun and for those reasons i love this game no one has ever heard of . in a way the game embodies that , but remember this isn't mario party so don,t get your hopes up just go into it as its own thing and you'll see some value in it especially when playing with others around the house.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
