I'd sugguest that you pop the rubber seal on these and make sure there is sufficient grease inside.to your satisfaction
I was surprised that in the installing of the first bearing onto the motor shaft that the rubber seal just fell off. I've never attempted to remove a seal of a brand new bearing prior to installing. I'd always assumed that normally there is enough grease in the race that the rubber seal would stick to the bearing just from contact of the grease alone and that it was not so easy to do. WELL NOT THESE ! So I looked inside and saw that instead of the normal black bearing grease which I was expecting, there was almost nothing of any grease and what was inside looked like clear petroleum jelly. Perhaps it's what should be used considering petroleum jelly does not hurt rubber products. In any case, I packed the race with 2 cents worth of normal black automotive bearing grease put ... The original bearing set which came with this $ 167.00 motor only lasted about a year before the original factory bearings started to squeal. Is it fair to rate the product bad because the rubber seal came off in installation ? Not sure, but no damage was done and I was happy to get the warning before I reassembled the motor with bearing races " as is " which only contained a very small amounts of grease and remounted the motor for use. Would I buy these again ? The seller is in Florida and so am I so I got them in just 2 days. Not a big deal to add some grease. Right now the answer is yes. If the bearings fail sooner then a years time then I'd say no.
