    Interesting film about illicit romance & surrogacy but FIRELIGHT was much better.

    The theme was fascinating, a priest his wealthy parishioner falling in love. But it was secondary to the idea back in the 40s of a secret surrogate father for the woman's infertile husband. And the acting directing and musical score was pure syrup. In great contrast, a film called FIRELIGHT also dealt with a secret surrogacy and it accidental romance and intrigue in the 18th? century but the acting was better and story more believable.
