I've ordered FMA batteries in the past and have been very pleased with the performance; I expect these NiMN batteries will be the same. Please note that the connector on this battery may be different than your Sunsetter shade. I had to swap out connectors to use this battery. You can always splice your old battery connector to the wires in the new battery.

Fixed our solar powered motorized Easyshade
5 year old Easyshade stopped working on us. Took the solar panel unit apart and checked the battery, it was measuring 12V open but when I load tested it dropped to almost nothing. Tried cycle charging it with my hobby NiMH charger and it couldn't charge it even at 100mA. Contacted Easyshade, their only solution was a new $150 solar panel unit. Did some searching and found this and ordered it. The plug that it comes with (standard full size Tamiya plug) didn't fit mine so had to cut it off and use the old battery plug. You can't use wire splicers you'll need to solder as space is tight. Let the battery charge up a few days and then tried it and shade it working good again. If this happens again will probably just connect directly to the motor with a 12V power supply and work it ... 5 year old Easyshade stopped working on us. Sun setter awning owner. Check this out!
After using the outdoor sun setter awning for almost 4 years the battery on the solar panel gave up. Called the company and quoted me $170 for the entire solar panel with battery plus shipping and tax. I did my research and found out that you could replace just the battery ( hard to find). Bought this at $29.99. Installing it is easy. The hard part was the connector, you need to cut the old one and solder it to the new one. I replaced 3 awnings and save me more than $500! This is a good replacement for the stock solar panel battery, and appears to be of similar size and quality. As others have mentioned, the connector is the wrong size, but I was able to pull the connector off the old battery, and put the wires from the new battery into it, so no soldering or wire nuts were required. The wire gauge on the new battery is thicker than on the stock battery, which means it’s a tighter fit to get everything back in the housing, but it seems to be working well so far, so I am pleased. Time will tell if the new battery is as durable, but I could replace it 4 times before reaching the cost of a new solar housing from SunSetter, which is the only option they provide. SunSetter Solar Powered sunshade battery pack
This battery pack is specifically made for the SunSetter Solar Powered blind. The only problem is the connector doesn't match the one from the defective battery pack. Being handy I simply cut the old pigtail from the defective battery pack and solder it in place of the new battery pack connector. It would be nice if they were both the same.

Not available through SunSetter. Must purchase entire solar unit. Saved me over $120 to just replace batteries instead of entire unit. Easy to access and replace, however, I had to splice wires in order to use SunSetter plug-in, which was not difficult. Will definitely purchase batteries again when my next solar shade batteries give out. My shades are 7 years old. Batteries seem to be of good quality and, best of all, they work!Not available through SunSetter. Must purchase entire solar unit. Saved me over $120 to just replace batteries instead of entire unit.
