    Civil War Enthusiast's Comments

    I attempt to read, view, and listen to as much about our Civil War as my time permits, and concurrently attempt to understand as much as is possible of what it must have been like to live during that period. The Lincoln presidency epitomizes that period and this musical and vocal medley truly serve to create the aura surrounding that time. While a few critics would prefer that the music not have been interspersed with a few of Lincoln's speeches, I for one, feel that the few superb speech readings by Jason Robards, only serve to significantly enhance the overall value of this audio disk. This is the favorite of my Civil War era audios.
