To know it is to love it
This little camera rocks ! Long shots and macros are impressive. It's image quality is good and a it's small light camera that suits the needs my DSLR wasn't quite filling. It doesn't quite fit in most pockets and it need a good amount of light, but that is the worst thing a have to say about it. It uses AA batteries and while some people like to complain, a spare set for this camera cost less than a single spare that I carry for my DSLR. The charger was even a little bit less. The menu and controls are easy enough to navigate. The auto and scene setting are okay but there is also a limited but adequate amount of manual control to do a lot more than that. I mean a lot more too. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants more than a point and shoot or what most cell phone have to offer. I'd ... This little camera rocks ! I wanted some wide angle, super zoom and macro capabilities. I wanted an EVF and a flip screen and I wanted some decent image quality. I got all that and a bunch more with the Pentax X-5.

Great second camera.
I needed a second camera to use when my main camera was too cumbersome to carry. The Pentax X-5 is exactly what I wanted. I've taken several test shots and i'm pleased with the results. The camera is compact, easy to carry and has most of the features I need. A fine camera for the price that would well serve the average photographer. I only awarded 4 stars because it was a used camera.
