    A niche camera

    This camera is super easy to use. And the small size allows you to take it anywhere, even a shirt pocket, although don't drop it. With 14mpxl and the small sensor, you are not going to get great large pictures. Where this camera excels is in taking close-ups. I can take document close-ups or shots of close objects with great image quality. I shot a set of blue prints that are quite readable. This is the primary niche for this camera for me. I have many other cameras for the other things. And I must add this is a durable camera too. It might be good for kids or beginners, not because it's a toy, but because of ease of use and durability. Battery life is great. Extra batteries are cheap.

    Camera did not turn on or work

    Did not work when we got it. Bought & installed a new battery and it is working so far. You would think that it would have been tested to see that everything was working properly before the camera was sold, when we got it it would not even turn on and the battery would not charge in the camera. Therefor, I cannot give a very good review.

    Very nice pocketable camera

    The camera is very nice for what it is - good quality, easy picture-taking with a camera that can be easily tucked away in a small pocket or purse compartment. I use it for a 'second camera' when i don't want to carry my larger one. The only drawback for me is that it uses a dedicated lithium-ion battery which requires having a separate charger & cord and/or a spare battery handy. I honestly plan to replace it with a slightly larger model which uses AA batteries - which also results in a slightly beefier grip. But that's just a personal preference.

    Nikon Coolpix S3100 Camera

    Camera is perfect for those who need a small camera for occasional use. The camera will easily fit into a shirt pocket and weighs very little. Controls are easy to use and if you've had this kind of camera before, will be fairly intuitive. Note that the battery is rechargable and uses the same cable to charge as used for the transfer of pictures to computer. This is the second I have purchased from ebay as you can get used in good condition for around 35.00. Be sure if you buy to get the AC charger as the second camera I bought did not have this. If you have to buy the cable separately, there are a lot of folks selling the charge / picture transfer cable on ebay as well for about $5.00. I use this camera for taking pictures of items I sell on ebay.

    Great Little Camera

    I don't like to use my phone as a camera and this Nikon fits the bill for high quality images and easy to transfer to my computer photo file. Compact, easy to carry and easy to use. Love it. You will never find a better camera for the money with Nikon quality.
