Disappointing
Michael Jackson is a SUPER STAR. This DVD doesn't do him justice. It is mostly out takes from his rehearsal in preparation of the concert that never happened due to his death. This production seems more of an attempt of his heirs to cash in on MJ's fame. I am certain that he would never have approved this video. The DVD does show Michael's insistence on perfection of both himself and his performers. Nothing less than perfection was good enough for MJ. I found it very interesting in how they editors let things slip past them. During practice when MJ complains, the producer is overly apologetic and you can tell he's afraid of upsetting MJ. A look behind the scenes of genius
To be clear, I am writing this from the point of view of a very big MJ fan. This Is It is what I was expecting. A glimpse into the rehearsal life of Michael Jackson. But that's just what's so brilliant about it. Never have I had the opportunity to see what he's like behind the scenes. What I didn't expect was the production value of the DVD. Even though it's just rehersal footage, the producers did their best to give us a view into what the concert series in London would have looked like. Everything from a brand new 3D film for Thriller, to a black and white green screen effort on Smooth Criminal. I can easily say this would have been the most expesive and most entertaining concert of all time, had The King of Pop not tragically died so young. I think this ... Of course the die-hard MJ fan can't live without it. But people who love music, dance, pyrotechnics, or all of the above could certainly learn a few things from watching Michael direct this show. My only complaints would be the lack of footage for Billie Jean and the opening of the concert. They spend a great deal of time teasing what both will be like, but they never come right out and say what the Billie Jean number will look like, nor do they ever show the props for Gotta' Be Startin' Somethin'. Still, these omissions are understandable, as Michael's death canceled the show, and likewise some of these props may have never been completed or tested. Also, during scenes that had significant films on the back screen, I would have preferred a picture-in-picture camera, as to enjoy the full experience, rather than cutting back and forth. All-in-all, this is Michael's best DVD, and a perfect way to enjoy and experience his music and mastermind in one final show. Love is forever.

Michael Jackson's Dream
I loved the artistry and the excellence that MJ conveyed. I did not particularly like all of the behind the scenes but I know it was necessary to convey the perfectionism yet humaness of the man . The songs were all well performed. I bought it due to the things I had heard about MJ wanting to use this tour to bring his beliefs and dreams to life. I don't believe he would have been disappointed.

I really liked this video and music on BlueRay. Many songs I never heard before. Was surprised at some of Michael's beliefs I did not know about. At his age still had the moves and the voice. One thing I did not like was a pair of pants he wore that was really more like a clown's outfit. It just was not him. Bright colored and fullof reflections and sparkles. Not a big deal but was the only thing I did not like. Would of been a little better if thee outfit was at least black. It just did not match anything. Many of the actors and auditions were very cool. The finalists were some of the best ever to be seen and to work with Michael. I do recommend this DVD to all that want to see more of Michael.
