  • Goodbye Ronnie James Dio

This was to be the final studio material that Dio would add his trademark vocals to for Ritchie Blackmore and Rainbow. A 4 star effort, with the great guitar work that was on all the works prior, the only problem I have are most of the songs are really just a little bit above average and seemed a bit rushed. Especially compared to the works of art that they put out in the years prior to this release. The title track and "Kill The King" are the exceptions and are really the best songs on this short (8 tracks, 39 minute long) cd. Still, with that said, if your a fan of classic hard rock and especially if your a fan of Dio or Ritchie then this will be a must own for you.

  • The last Dio album!

I bought all these albums at one time or another. Thisis the last Rainbow cd with Ronnie James Dio as lead singer. The cd starts with the title classic Long Live Rock N Roll, and Lady of the lake is a very good song, LA Connection is okay! Gates of Babylon is a great rocker, Kill the kill is excellent! Overall there is only a couple of songs that are mellow or so-so! But for any Dio or Rainbow fan this is a must album! Dio would go on to front Black Sabbath and Blackmore went back to Deep Purple! Long Live Rock N Roll was the end of a chapter in Rainbow. But Rock N Roll still Lives!

  • A "desert island" album if there ever was one

This is the classic Rainbow line up of Dio, Blackmore, Powell... an essential rock album and truly sad that it was the last with this line up. Songs sound as fresh as they did then and none of the songs have entered the dreaded "classic rock" rotation and been played to death. If you haven't heard all the songs on this CD, you'll be surprised at just how many later heavy metal and hard rock acts shamelessly lifted rifts and vocal ideas off this and the first 2 Rainbow albums imho!

  • Bad bad remaster

This is probably the worse remastered cd I've ever heard! It sounds dull and murky and it's best to just stick with the first issued cd. Horrible just horrible!!!

  • Homage to classic rock.

This album shows some of the great hits, of the late 1970's band Rainbow. Dio's rockin pipes help create a melody of fantasy and awe, to never be forgotten.
