Notes
In 1970, a young, unknown Florida rock band arrived at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios to record a demo tape for a possible album. These initial recordings included the original studio versions of many Skynyrd classics ("Free Bird," "Gimme Three Steps," "I Ain't the One," etc.), providing an early glimpse of their evolving sound. The 1st ever release of their "true debut" LP features 75 minutes of hot early Skynyrd, including 6 unreleased recordings and 2 unreleased songs.

    Awesome Lynyrd Skynyrd CD,

This is a must have for any Skynyrd fan, This was the first album ever recorded by Lynyrd Skynrd at Muscle Shoals Alabama and the songs definetly sounded different on this previously unreleased album as they did when recorded by MCA a few years later. When Skynyrd released "Sweet Home Alabama" this was what they were talking about.

    For Die Hard Fans Mostly...

I'm actually much more impressed by their later albums, which have a deeper, more robust sound & feel, at least to me. But we're all different, and there seems to be a great following for this one - which is why I bought it. Though I was a young adult during their early years, I'd not heard this album...

  • Really appreciate this recording. Thanks for saving it.

It's always a special experience to hear a band when they were first starting out. The people in Skynyrd always had a great energy, and this is on display during these recordings.
