This guitar is a beast especially if you're into Hard Rock/Heavy Metal. There is medium to considerable weight, but the dimensions are pretty much spot on to the original. The main difference is that it doesn't have the "V" neck the originals had, but hey, they have to make the USA worth the extra money. As usual, the pickups don't unleash the true sonic potential of this axe, though nothing your favorite aftermarket upgrade couldn't fix. The fingerboard is of the darker variety which I prefer over the lighter type that makes the rest of the guitar look cheap. It came set up well right out of the box with lower than average string action. The radius is somewhere north of 14" (flat like a Jackson, but not as flat as Ibanez). The control knobs have a nice taper to be of the mini size, tighter than the PRS SE range. The biggest surprise (to me) is a import bridge with the small posts usually seen on USA guitars(!) My only complaint is the neck strap pin is too far forward. It interferes with upper fret access and makes it neck heavy. An easy mod is to move the button 1" toward the body. Overall, a solid buy, up there with the PRS SE line of guitars.Read full review
I have 14 guitars, four of them are DEAN, of these four one is a very rare vIntage DEAN CADILAC one is a DEAN SPLITAIL, one is a RED FLAMED DEAN CADILAC and of course the last DEAN is the black triple pickup CADILAC,thats right 3 of these are CADILACS and they all have there own sound. I have a vintage LES PAUL CUSTOM and I hate to say this but after playing this new triple pickup DEAN CADY I hear with my own ears why some people call them LES PUAL KILLERS. I LOVE this thing. Of the fourtine guitars I have none of them have the massive tone this CADY exudes, it is just that damn good. It is in PRISTINE condition. If you think you want a LES PAUL I HIGHLY RECOMEND you find one of these and play it before you spend your cash. You WILL BE AMAZED and probbaly want to thank me. Don,t get me wrong I LOVE my LES PAUL and all of my guitars but THIS triple pickup DEAN CADILAC IS EXEPTIONAL IN EVERY CATAGORY YOU COULD POSSIBLY IMAGINE and it almost plays itselfRead full review
