Been a huge Doctor Who fan in the U.S. since 1st. introduced to the series in the late 70's. Over the years I've collected all VHS releases and now am keeping up with the DVD releases. This Lost in Time Patrick Troughton compliation is of what's left in the BBC archive of Pat's work that's never been previously relaeased. In the evolution of the series Pat's era stories are known as the "monster era". Unfortunately the BBC erased or distroyed a good bit of these classic stories. Lost forever, or maybe not quite. If any collectors are still holding any of these missing stories of Patrick Troughton or William Hartnell material please contact the BBC restoration team. Do it for arts sake! I found shopping this DVD on eBay rewarding and fun. It was released in late 2004 and at that time commanded a preimum price. Patience paid off, I'd set my maximum price in my mind and started bidding on auctions until I achieved my goal of purchasing this Pat Troughton set new, at a good discount. Shopping on eBay pays off again. It is great to finally see some of these classic episodes. It kind of wets your apetite for the rest of the missing ones. I'm grateful to have this collection. It's such rich entertainment from sci-fi special effects infancy. All these episodes are unique sci-fi television history. Get this Lost in Time Patrick Troughton DVD and you'll know what I'm talking about. Patrick, Fraiser, Wendy, Debbie, the writers, and the producers are at the zenith of their careers. You'll see the bridge between the Hartnell stories and the lead up to the Pertwee era. It's a vital link in the evolution of the Doctor Who series. It's always fun when a series spans decades in production. You can see plenty of actors and actresses appearing for the 1st. time in these lost episodes. You'll recognize them later appearing in Doctor Who stories with Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker and Peter Davidson. This is a must have DVD release for Doctor Who fans and true Sci-fi fans in general.Read full review
I am personally a Whovian. sure there are Star Wars fans, and Star Trek fans, but I have always found Doctor Who to be the greatest of them all, especially with over 15 years of episodes to watch. here is a time Lord with the power to do anything he wants, and he goes around the galaxy saving the universe, and his pet people us earthlings as well. of course the quality of action is not what you expect in today's movies, but overall these are some great classics and I suggest you add them to your archive today, and help the tradition continue.
Great addition to my collection.

The story of the Moonbase was the most interesting and entertaining; even though two of the episodes were missing, except for the audio. This was the only complete story in the two disc set. The other stories were interesting too. The only thing is that I wish I could see the way each story ends. I decided to buy it because I'm interested in the early days of "Doctor Who".
More then half of his Dr. Who episodes are missing or destroyed . This shows bits and pieces of all the shows that can be found . It leaves you wondering how did the Dr. save the world again and again .
