Synopsis
All Windows programmers take advantage of features made possible by COM and DCOM, but they generally do so at arm's length through an intermediate programming technology such as ActiveX. Offering essential information for the Windows developer, this text shows how the underlying architecture operates and how to use them to create efficient and robust programs that execute more rapidly and are more stable. All the code developed in the book, tested and proven in the Guerilla COM training course, is included on the enclosed CD-ROM., Written by a leading COM authority, this unique book reveals the essence of COM, helping developers to truly understand the why, not just the how, of COM. Understanding the motivation for the design of COM and its distributed aspects is critical for developers who wish to go beyond simplistic applications of COM and become truly effective COM programmers, and to stay current with extensions, such as Microsoft Transaction Server and COM+. Box examines COM from the perspective of a C++ developer, offering a familiar frame of reference to ease you into the topic.

- 6***6 (72)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThis delivery was earliest date! Condition, value, quality - all as described. (My mistake was not requiring the publishing date to be 1958. This was 1977.) This IS a Viking Portable Library copy of Dante's Divine Comedy in English, translated by Laurence Binyon, but it is with a cover DIFFERENT from what was shown. The tracking number was listed as from "UPS", but should have been listed as from "USPS." Contact with this seller alleviated tracking issues. I recommend this seller! Thank you!
- r***d (277)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseItem in great condition 😁 SELLER communicated any time I had a question 😍 Good value 😊 packaged securely 🙂 Shipping said 7-14 days which is correct , would purchase again from rhis seller ... Thank You
- 6***t (481)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchasePurchasing form this company can at times be frustrating due to items never arriving, very low shipping time and the inability to track the items. But I gave them another chance and purchased many maps and books over the past few months and have received all of them. Last year, it was hit and miss. All items were in the condition as described. Packaging is minimal. The only downside is extremely slow shipping. I rate them a C+. Nothing to gloat about but eventually you will get what you wanted.
