  • Poor release from a solid bluesplayer!

I'm a huge KWS fan and have all his stuff. That is why I am sad to report that this release is without merit, expect for the very first cut; Alive! He must have owed WEA an album or something as it's substantially less than this talented bluesplayer is capable of! The cut with Kidrock is the worst piece of drival Kenny has ever associated himself with. The Noah Hunt vocals are to be praised for sure and the instumental is mildly noteworthy. Pass this up and opt for the outstanding Ten Days Out, but be sure to get the special edition that has the accompanying DVD as it showcases some spectacular veteran bluesmen, especially David "Honey Boy" Edwards in probably his last video appearance before his demise! He WAS the very last person to play with Robert Johnson before that legend left this ...

  • What Might Have Been?

I have watched this Blues Rocker come up from a sapling, having been a huge Stevie Ray Vaughan fan. The story of how he sat right on the edge of the Stage for a couple of his concerts and grew from there was hopeful he might be who would step up and follow his footsteps... Yet, for some reason, the times changing, whatever, ..it doesn't seem to be getting back to the mainstream crowds he used to gather round himself. He's attempting to bring more ROCK into the Blues he had a great grasp on for the early releases, and for some reason it doesn't seem to work for me. I'll keep listening......

  • Stop after Live On

A couple decent songs. Guitar work, writing and vocals are disappointing. I recommend Ledbetter and Trouble Is. Hope Kenny gets back to his original genre and finds a vocalist. Why all the lineup changes? For a better buy, try Walter Trout Relentless and Go The Distance.

  • Departure from the expected

"The Place You're In" has a different concept to it; not say it's an unworthy project; just not what I expected. To me it was less about the blues/rock; more rock/slight blues nuances. It did not provide the flavor of KWS I enjoy. KWS left his more bluesy style on this one. Maybe the next one will hit the spot for me. Never mind though; I have all his stuff; timeless stuff. Thanks to KWS where ever you are!!!

  • Love It!

I've read nothing but semi-negative reviews about this CD. His vocals are good, if not great, the change of style is also great! Kinda funky, still jammin'...I'm not sure what all you people want? I think it's his best...they're all good, but this takes some balls on his part. A little departure from the blues thing, but it cranks!! The first three are...three of his best! Stay here, Kenny...there are too many "blues" guys anyway. And I like blues...
