A Curate's Egg
First thing to say is that this was a very cheap book and does contain some useful information. However it is intended to accompany an audio course which became obsolete many years ago and does not operate alone without that course. The worst thing about it as a standalone reference book is that it is full of typos which would really confuse an absolute beginner. And the section on verbs is utterly confusing.
