Reviews
4 Stars - Excellent - "...Tight, smokey and studiously economical, much of this 1962 debut is as sharp as 'Green Onions' itself....These tunes still sound smart, sharp and swinging."

  • Booker T & The MG's

I have always liked Booker T since hearing the classic track 'Green Onions',,,,but have not heard an album by them.. Thought I would give this a try and I was pleasently surprised. There are a couple of tracks that aren't really to my taste,, but on the whole the Cd is good...

  • Booker T. & The MG's - Green Onions (CD 1994)

I first bought this on vinyl in 1963 and I have finally got round to the CD version. It sounds as good as ever Cropper on guitar is superb as ever, Booker on the Hammond organ is absolutely magnificent. I saw them live in Amsterdam recently - the first time in 30 odd years - THEY HAVE GOT BETTER. You will never find and outfit as tight as they are anywhere. The saddest thing is that Al Jackson is no longer with us he is the most sympathetic drummer I have ever heard, always there but never intrusive.
