    Great purchase, low price

Great product, quick shipping (even internationally). My only problem, which I don't think was specified is that the disc doesn't come in the disk case. If this was actually specified in the product description, I'm sorry for my mistake and I'll change my rating to 5 stars.

  • 2112: A must have journey for any Rush fan!

This is what hard rock is all about. If you are familiar with the band because you've heard some of their more popular songs being played on FM radio then this detailed review is being written with you in mind. If your a Rush fan (I've been for nearly 30 years) then you already not only know about this remarkable music, but you've probably owned it in some form, or currently do now. 2112 is the band's 4th studio release, it first was released in 1976. The first track is also the title of the cd, 2112 is a 20 minute long epic journey that showcases some of the best conceptual lyrics of any album at any time in the history of rock music! The percussion provided by Neal Peart is stunning and flawless. The vocals and bass lines are given forth by Geddy Lee in such a ...

  • Rush 2112

Rush not only makes the most interesting music with original lyrics and wonderous chord changes, but what makes this CD a unique masterpiece is that it also foretells the future. Rush takes on the millenium with a reference to the new testament, 2112, it is the chapter where Jesus himself throws a tantrum for the practice of gambling in the place of worship, the Synagogue. Also, you may be aware that it is prophecy for the world to end on December 21, 2012. The lyrical content, written by Neil Peart, the professor on the drumkit's vivid imagination, is about priests in the future who will not accept the discovery of the guitar, a stange wonderous instrument.Evidently, left over from after a holocaust or end of the world as we have come to know it. Any type of social freedom will be ...

  • Not just any old review

2112 is the first Rush album I ever bought (I won't say when though). My copy is from their backyard on another label. After the first part of the title suite however there was a deep scratch my cat couldn't even have put there (he knows better anyway, mind). I tried two places to get the disc resurfaced but it was too late. I might get another copy in future but to find an import doesn't happen too often and the place I bought it from no longer exists where it did (won't say if it was here or somewhere else). Now I have to find the LP to boot though when I buy those here, I try to stay within US soil due to high P&P costs compared to CDs.

  • Brilliant

I'm old enough to have purchased this album when it first came out in the mid-1970s. I'd never heard of Rush before that. After listening, I was converted into a Rush fan. This is their best early album, and perhaps the last album they did without the use of all those synthesizers. It also seems to be their "break though" album. The two or three albums before this went generally unnoticed. Shortly after its release, I saw them in concert (they were still playing small venues at the time), and they performed almost the entire album.
