It all started here on Kiss' debut studio release.

Had this on cassette and finally got this on cd recently. Straight out rock is what you get from this debut studio effort. Several cuts that begin to become staples in their live performances for decades to come.

  • The First Chapter in KISStory!

For a debut, this was a great album. Hard rock was something still fairly new in the late 60s/Early 70s. Pioneers for it were the Beatles with a bunch of heavy tracks found on their "White Album", The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Ted Nugent & Aerosmith. Then came along KISS. 4 guys from New York that gave us unique heavy metal along with a mystique they hid behind make-up & a stage show featuring pyrotechnics and antics that included Gene Simmons breathing fire and drooling fake blood plus drummer Peter Criss atop a riser that rose him multiple feet into the air. Later, Guitarist Paul Stanley would smash guitars at the end of their show and lead guitarist Ace Frehley would play a smoking guitar which he would make explode on stage. Throughout KISS's 50 year career, ...

  • The first KISS

I knew right away I would love this album just from the cover. It's so simple but yet so powerful. The record starts out with a simple drum line from the song Strutter. Strutter is a simple yet catchy little tune. Kiss then turn up the heat with the third track Firehouse. Now it's time to cool down with some Cold Gin. I love Gene's voice on Cold Gin, it's so throaty and yet shrills at the same time. Why does Gene sing this track if he's so anti drugs & drinking? The album closes out with two of my all-time favorite Kiss songs 100,000 years and the ever so powerful Black Diamond. I absolutely love the way Black Diamond fades out at the end. It sounds even better cranked up loud on vinyl! Overall this is such an awesome album and one of personal all-time ...

  • "Let me know"!

Had this on LP back in the 70s and it's still remains one of my favorite recordings by the band to this day. They had a sound on here they never got back sometimes things are better un fixed. Favorite tracks for me where" love theme from kiss" and "let me know"
