Wes Craven's lastest slasher film
From the dark mind of Director Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street ) come this latest slasher film. The movie begins with a deranged killer stalking the people who live in Riverton after his death we learn that 7 children were born pre-mature on that same night. 16 years later those children have grown up and it is time for the legend to be fulfilled and the ripper to return to claim those 7 lives. This movie is very gory and there is a lot of slasher type effects and blood and gore. Not for the faint of heart. Pleasantly surprised. One of the better Wes Craven films.
I originally rented this movie from Redbox. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much. I figured it would be your average teen slasher movie, but since it was written and directed by Wes Craven, I thought I'd give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Does this movie contain attractive teens? Yes. Is the storyline of cliques in high school and having the "loser" as the main character a cliche? Of course. But there's something special about this film. The storyline is about a serial killer in a small town who had 7 different personalities. On the night he died, 7 babies were born and now, on their 16th birthday, they are being tracked down one by one. The actors are decent, the death scenes aren't over dramatized and the storyline is unique. The best part about this movie..? It actually has an ... I originally rented this movie from Redbox. Better than average teen horror film. The teens were rather stereotyped (the religious fanatic, the jock bully, the loser boy in love with the popular blonde beauty), but at least they looked the right age to be in high school. There was blood but not excessive gore; no nudity; no sex scenes; the cursing was about what you'd hear at a typical high school. Plenty of plot twists keep you guessing. Worth watching for the California Condor scene alone --- priceless!Better than average teen horror film. The teens were rather stereotyped (the religious fanatic, the jock bully, the loser boy in love with the popular blonde beauty), but at least they looked the right age to be in high school.
