About this product

Product Information

The Sunday Times number one bestseller The Strange Death of Europe is a highly personal account of a continent and culture caught in the act of suicide. Declining birth-rates, mass immigration and cultivated self-distrust and self-hatred have come together to make Europeans unable to argue for themselves and incapable of resisting their own comprehensive change as a society. This book is not only an analysis of demographic and political realities, but also an eyewitness account of a continent in self-destruct mode. It includes reporting from across the entire continent, from the places where migrants land to the places they end up, from the people who appear to welcome them in to the places which cannot accept them. Told from this first-hand perspective, and backed with impressive research and evidence, the book addresses the disappointing failure of multiculturalism, Angela Merkel's U-turn on migration, the lack of repatriation and the Western fixation on guilt. Murray travels to Berlin, Paris, Scandinavia, Lampedusa and Greece to uncover the malaise at the very heart of the European culture, and to hear the stories of those who have arrived in Europe from far away. In each chapter he also takes a step back to look at the bigger issues which lie behind a continent's death-wish, answering the question of why anyone, let alone an entire civilisation, would do this to themselves? He ends with two visions of Europe - one hopeful, one pessimistic - which paint a picture of Europe in crisis and offer a choice as to what, if anything, we can do next.

My experience was positive re the seller, but negative towards the tracking service which claimed it had been delivered on 17 December. That was to the Danish Postal Service and it arrived in my hands earlier this afternoon. The information was so misleading that I received 2 reminders from ebay about not leaving feedback. The item was as described and well packaged. I will now get the chance to read the story about yet another character in the Blaydon Races song and my home town.

If you have concerns regarding multiculturalism and Islam then I highly recommend this book. The author, Douglas Murray, writes in an engaging manner and makes a compelling argument that the countries of Europe have been heading towards a clash of cultures for years. What form that clash will take only time will tell, however either way it doesn’t sound good. The book is well researched and gives references to opinions, details of incidents and quotes attributed to various people. Those references mean this book is a work of research rather than the author simply making assertions and giving opinions based on unknown evidence. I highly recommend this book as it gives you a version of the history quite different to what is given by main stream media outlets. The author simply ...

  • For those that want answers to non P.C questions

I am still waiting for the book to be delivered however for those that want to look into the history as to why the world is less cohesive and more chaotic I recommend this as one of most favourite intellectual insightful books I have read.

  • Profound and thought provoking

An excellent must read in our dangerous times. You have to see the statistics to be truely horrified, shocked and scared. Thank heavens for brave men like Douglas.
