About this product

Product Information

If you have ever suspected that heavy water is the title of a bootleg Pink Floyd album, believed that surface tension is an anxiety disorder, or imagined that a noble gas is the result of a heavy meal at Buckingham Palace, then you need The Cartoon Guide to Chemistry to set you on the road to chemical literacy. You don't need to be a scientist to grasp these and many other complex ideas, because The Cartoon Guide to Chemistry explains them all: the history and basics of chemistry, atomic theory, combustion, solubility, reaction stoichiometry, the mole, entropy, and much more-all explained in simple, clear, and yes, funny illustrations. Chemistry will never be the same!

  • Tha Cartoon Guide to Chemistry by Criddle, Gonick 2005

Did you ever think Chemistry was just a little dry? A great resource for the chemistry buff or teacher to add a little humor to your daily lab routines! Enjoy. The authors sure have and so have my students. My class really enjoys these a part of our daily exercise. I am waiting for more.

  • great book

i had to buy this book for my daughters ap chemistry class because she said that her teacher said it was a requirement for her class. I have seen her with the book and her grades are very high in chemestry which is amazing because she never liked science. I wish i had seen this book when she started high school as a freashmen now she is a junior. Thank you very much.

  • Humorous chemistry for nerds!

Great book! I teach AP chemsitry and liked this book so much I recently ordered 30 copies for my classroom as an additional text! It got good laughs from the kids in my class . . . that is always a good sign!
