About this product

Product Information

William Claxton's Jazz is an exciting and original collection of over seventy duotone portraits of such jazz greats as Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Gerry Mulligan, Mahalia Jackson, Dave Brubeck, Chet Baker, Thelonious Monk, Art Pepper, and Max Roach. Hailed as a classic and now available in an elegant paperback edition, Jazz is perhaps the first art photography book devoted to jazz musicians. By turns exuberant, joyful, and contemplative, Claxton's keen, intuitive photographs capture the nuances of the intimacy between jazz musicians and their music. With a foreword by Leonard Feather and an afterword by Terry Southern, this seminal classic is a must for anyone who appreciates jazz and fine photography.

Accurate item description and pics. Great packing job with great care and emphasis on ensuring the item arrived undamaged using minimum packing materials and with conscientious use of recycled materials. Super-fast shipment at reasonable rate and arriving ahead of schedule. Great communication before and after transaction. Highly recommended A+ / 5 Star seller! Definitely one of my new favorite sellers and will purchase from again. Can't say enough praise for this seller. Highly Recommended!!!!!

This sellers "two day" shipping policy is baloney - it took a over five days and repeated emails before this item shipped. I almost thought I would have to request a refund from eBay. That being said, when it did ship, it was nicely packaged and arrived undamaged. I would not buy from this person again because they don't honor their own policies! I can only leave positive feedback because 1) the item DID arrive, and 2) it was as described. The rest wasn't a great experience.

I dislike complaining, but I'm unhappy with this transaction. The deck/book set, described as "like new," was mailed in such a flimsy envelope that it arrived twisted out of shape, to the point where one of the cards was stuck to exposed glue inside. I wrote to the seller about the situation but received no response. I didn't ask for a return because the price wasn't high, but even at this price I expect more care in packaging. (I have ordered other items from this seller that arrived intact.)
