    Have used this book for years, and still have not learned all it's content.

    Excellant source of information and knowledge for the more serious student / collector of the Japanese sword. Would have this as the #1 go to book for initial research of the Japanese sword. E-bay is the best outlet to get this book at a fair price. Bought this book as a backup for my original.

    informative japanese sword book

    I bought The Connoisseur's Book of Japanese Swords by Kokan Nagayama as a present for my husband who has always been a sword enthusiast and now has started actively collecting swords. The information in this book is well organized, easy to read and very informative especially for the novice sword collector. There are very nice drawings that really help the reader visualize the information provided. My husband was very pleased with this book when he received it. I am sure that we will both learn a lot from it. Overall I'd recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn more about Japanese swords and sword collecting.

    stay away

    Lots of history and facts on the makers. But if you have a sword and want to ID it good luck. The book has partial "drawings" only, and no pictures black or white to compare to. If your looking for WWII swords don't look here. I find it lacking.
