An odd, distinctly British sketch show, LITTLE BRITAIN rose to become one of the most popular comedy shows in its native U.K. Starring Matt Lucas and David Williams in a variety of guises, each sketch features a unique take on the minutiae of British life. Imitating people from various walks of life, Lucas and Williams grotesquely exaggerate them for comedic effect; their chirpy yet deliberately irritating character Vicky Pollard even spawned a catchphrase that seeped into everyday use in Britain ("yeah, but no, but yeah!"). In a further twist, former DOCTOR WHO actor Tom Baker provides voiceover duties for a number of sketches, with his booming, Shakespearean tones adding a further aberration to the absurdist melée. LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN fans should find plenty of amusement in this well-observed set of caricatures, with the folk who populate LITTLE BRITAIN offering a sprightly counterpart to the dark and devious inhabitants of Royston Vasey. The third series is included here in its entirety.

      Hitting Their Stride

      Season 3 is where they really go over the top. Side splitting funny to say the least. The bonus features are in a league of their own. This is satire the way it was meant to be. Daffyd, Lou & Andy, Carol Beer, Margie (Fat Fighters) they all reach new heights.

      The best of current British Comedy

      I first heard of Little Britain on a trip to England. I kept seeing billboards all around for the show. Then, low and behold, while watching TV in our hotel room it started. Finally I knew what the billboards were talking about. I hadn't even figured out that it was a TV show, the boards were a bit cryptic. Well, I haven't laughed so hard since I first saw Python in the early 70's. I caught two episodes on the trip. When I got back I started going into withdrawals from the show and was thrilled to see it on Ebay. I ordered all three available seasons on sight and they are all fantastic.       they, these guys here in this series) are certified. if there was a reward out 4 them it woulndt be enough. i dont think even the insane asylum would take them in. they are so funny that they deserve 2 be where they are 2day. i hope that they go on 2 make a bigger name. i am still surprised that not many people are not familiar with this shows title nor the pople/makers. as for me by just having all 3 series is great & when 1 needs a good laff well just close your eyes & choose a disc. if u have all 3 series that makes it even more fun. they will have u lafffin your arse off through out the series & u will end with a favorite character (i did after season 1 & am still stuck on that same 1). if u can even just take a look at it Little Britian: The Complete Seriesu are gonna love it and not ...

      The spirit of the Pythons updated for the 21st century

      In this third series, authors and actors David Walliams and Matt Lucas (aided by the voice of ex-Dr. Who, Tom Baker) continue to create a parallel comic universe, with numerous quirky British characters who defy taboo and convention. The material tests the bounds of conventional good taste as it explores controversial topics such as obesity, homosexuality, cross-dressing, mail order brides, and teenage hooliganism. Featuring good acting and mimicry, the overall effect is richly comic and satirical, with clear links to the ghosts of British comedy past. The futility of finding cheese in Monty Python's cheese shop is reflected in Little Britain's user-unfriendly travel agent Carol for whose customers "the computer says no" - every time.       little britain 3rd series

      Laugh 'til it hurts. This skit series is raunchy, funny and totally not American. The characters are all disticntive and in typical British fashion. It is a low brow humor that tickles your basest laugh and it utterly "politically incorrect". A pleasant change from American TV where everyone is afraid to laugh at each other. If you are offended by nudity, fat and handicapped jokes , vugarity, and sex in the alley, don't buy this set. If you want to laugh and tell your friends that you can't believe what you saw...this is the show for you.
