I do, however, recommend some changes to their shipping - they show a shipper (SortHub) on eBay, but the tracking # they email is for a different carrier. It’s difficult to know where my purchase is. This time, it was delivered a week late. In the grand scheme of things not a big deal. But it shouldn’t be this difficult to accurately track my purchase.

    Eye Candy by Linda Mason (2008)

    I have other books by the renowned makeup artist Linda Mason so that's why I wanted this one. It is a great little book (smaller than the industry standard coffee table sized ie Kevyn Aucoin's books). It focuses on the eyes with some commentaries on cheeks and lips for each eye look. She also details how each look was done and with the colors used. Better yet, if you want the EXACT shade, she provides this as well - they are her own line of cosmetics and can be purchased online or in her boutique in New York. The photos are great closeups done on real girls - these are not super airbrushed high end models here - which is refreshing. I would say this book is for someone fairly adept at doing makeup either for themselves or professionally who just wants some inspiration! I would ...

    A great start

    I love it. I have no experience with make up beyond mimicking celebrities and admiring the avant garde make-up artists in fashion shows. I was looking for a book with simple step by step instructions and a graph of the eye and placement of color. It even includes simple descriptions of common make-up tools, types, and jargon. While it's not a detailed text book to teach you how to be a professional, it is an excellent start. This is good for just learning the basics of eye make up. It includes examples from everyday-wear-to-the-office to making-a-statement that are interesting an easy to follow. After acquiring this book and learning it thoroughly, I can move on to more advanced guides or experiment on my own with this basic guide.

    Great book at a good price!

    I was actually surprised at the book, I was expecting it to be mediocre focusing only on actual styles of eye make-ups, but it also included additional information on eye brows, tools, references and more. The book had lots of colorful pictures and how-to illustrations, though more technique tips would have been helpful. Some of the styles of eye make-up didn't suit me, and some were just ridiculous for majority of people but overall it's a good book to add to your beauty collection for inspiration.

    Eye Candy by Linda Mason

    I was very much looking forward to this item. I am an aspiring makeup artist looking for all the inspiration that I could find. I absolutely loved that it is a smaller book. I have many other books on makeup that are very bulky. I like to take them with me when I go places, such as getting my toes done to keep my mind occupied. This one I can just place in my purse and take along without breaking my shoulder! I love how the steps are so simple and easy to understand. My little sister is getting into makeup and even she was able to comprehend these instructions. The book itsself is absolutely beautiful with perfect photography.
