About this product

Product Information

This suspense thriller about a daring plot to murder Charles De Gaulle is based on Frederick Forsyth's best-seller. The movie's suspenseful pace is tied to the incredibly careful and intricate planning the man code-named "the Jackal" does in preparation for the hit. This classic was watered down and remade in 1997 as The Jackal.

Shipped quickly, brand new condition, as stated, however I recommend better packaging for DVDs, this is a new unopened set, and 2 of the pins that hold one disc broke off, and 1 of the pins that hold another did as well, and now they don’t hold well in their holder. Dvds should be bubble wrapped in a small box, the cases and discs are both delicate. Not a huge deal, but just a recommendation, amazon sends their dvds in the same envelope packing and I constantly have to call for replacements.

  • Good 1973 film

I vaguely remember seeing this film in the mid 1980's and on tv in the 1990's, but all I remembered was that I liked it. I have now watched it about 5 times since I got this copy as few weeks ago. I love it. The British act like the British, the Italians act like Italians, the French act like the French I remember when I was in Europe in 1975. it brings back good memories for me. This actor Edward Fox who plays the man hired to assassinate DeGaul is very good throughout. He is handsome, rutheless, and cold. In the end, I was glad he died, but I liked watching him go through his paces like a fine thuroughbred. The actor (whose name escapes me) who played the French Police Commissioner, is also consistently good. The film is filled with familiar but "unknown" character actors who perform ...
