About this product

Product Information

In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. At the end of this heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated.

    Dunkirk

It wasn't really my type of movie but was still worth a watch with me really only purchasing to find out more about what Dunkirk was all about and what happened there.

  • Top critical review

    Not quite right

Most of this movie is focused on the main characters escaping sinking ships. Their escapes appear to be mostly at night. While a parallel storyline of the RAFโ€™s involvement is shown during the daylight hours. The flip between day and night is irritating.. You see the occasional He-111 and Me-109 but nothing that reflects the strength of the German air forces over Dunkirk. You donโ€™t see a single German soldier or tank. Only bullets flying. There is an attempt to correct the negative image of the RAFโ€™s performance over Dunkirk. This movie should have been more about the fleet of little boats coming to the rescue more so than soldiers extricating themselves from sinking trawlers. It needed a prologue.

  • War does hurt but overall it was a well produced film and the photography was excellent

  • Dunkirk. How lots of Davids defeated one Goliath.

Good value. An interesting way of depicting how small groups contributed so much to what was a very much larger operation. Very powerfully, well done.

  • Borring

A poor version of Dunkirk A spitfire could not glide for that long There were far more small craft than shown in the film A cheap production and not true to facts Producer should have a look at actual footage of DUNKIRK all in all disappointing
