I first got a sneek peek about what the album was going to be about when I heard and saw the Rock and Roll Double Header Tour that Def Leppard did this last year. With Rock On and No Matter What being performed. I was well aware that the album was due to come out sometime late in 2005 but as it went the album was later to be released in 2006. I couldn't wait. I love Def Leppards music and I love their take on any song that they like to cover as they put their familuar spin (Leppardizing)on them. This particular album shows just that. It's a great memory kicker if you're familuar with the songs and if your not,the songs are so catchy that you just want to sing along anyway. And as predicted the songs are going to sound fablous live. Even if this record isn't as memorable as Pyromania or Hysteria it is a record that a true Leppard fan should have in their collection. The band does the original artists proud and really does put their stamp on a great recording. As to favorite songs with so many different styles its hard to choose just one. This is a job for the listener but it won't be too hard, one listen or two and everyone will have their favorites. If you're waiting for music to fill in the time till the next studio album, this is the record for you. I have all their albums and I love them all. Guess you can say that I'm really partial to the artists. Get this record. It's worth it. The only down part about the record that I would see is the fact that if you want the bonus tracks that you have to hunt for the other cds. I found this to be a bit difficult and sometimes miss leading in ads about the record. Wished that there had been a cd of the songs and a cd of the bonus tracks as well instead of having to hunt down the ones that contained the bonuses with the original tracks repeated. But if you have them you have extra copies if something happens to the original. But by all means get the record anyway. It's definately something every Leppard fan needs.Read full review
Yeah! is a wonderful addition to any Def Leppard fan's collection of music. This CD marks the early influences of the band. I like the fact that they stay away from obvious influences like the Rolling Stones or the Beatles. And all the songs on the album never reached #1. So, they don't cover the "obvious choices" from each artist. This album showcases Def Leppard's true talent in both singing and playing music. I've listened for over 20 years, and Def Leppard has never sounded better!
Coinciding with their US tour with the legendary band Journey, Def Leppard released "YEAH!" in 2006. YEAH! has been referred to as a "covers" collection, suggesting it is all covers of other bands' old material and perhaps symptomatic of a lack of originality on Def Leppard's part. Giving it a listen, though, will cure all but the most cynical of any such misconceptions. YEAH! is a tribute to the Leps' most powerful musical influences, but it is pure Def Leppard. The basic track listing includes: 1. "20th Century Boy" (T-Rex) 2. "Rock On" (David Essex) 3. "Hanging on the Telephone" (The Nerves / Blondie) 4. "Waterloo Sunset" (The Kinks) 5. "Hell Raiser" (Sweet) 6. "10538 Overture" (ELO - Electric Light Orchestra) 7. "Street Life" (Roxy Music) 8. "Drive-In Saturday" (David Bowie) 9. "Golden Age of Rock n Roll" (Mott the Hoople) 10. "Little Bit of Love" (Free) 11. "No Matter What" (Badfinger) 12. "He's Gonna Step On You Again" (John Kongos) 13. "Don't Believe a Word" (Thin Lizzy) 14. "Stay With Me" (Faces) IMPORTANT NOTE: Depending on where the CD was purchased, it may come with an extra songs as follows: * BEST BUY - 2 extra tracks: "No Matter What (Live)" and "Winter Song" * iTUNES - 1 extra track: "How Does It Feel" [only applies when you buy the whole album] * TARGET - 2 extra tracks: "Action (Live)" and "When I'm Dead And Gone" * WALMART - bonus EP with 5 extra songs: "American Girl", "Search and Destroy", "Space Oddity", "Dear Friends", and "Heartbeat" * A Japanese version has 2 extra tracks: "Search and Destroy" and "American Girl" Before you bid, be sure to ask which version of the release you are buying if it is not clearly stated in the auction listing. The "liner notes" themselves are an hommage to classic 70's album art, and the disc has been styled to resemble a vinyl album. Cool and interesting little "inside jokes" for those who recognize the influence; just great pictures for those who don't. Either way, the entire collection was clearly given tremendous thought and consideration in every aspect of it's production from the song selections (the band deliberately chose to go with the "less obvious" songs to Leppardize, i.e., choosing "Don't Believe a Word" over the obvious "The Boys Are Back In Town" from Lizzy) to the packaging art. To be frank - though I am a big fan of the band - I wasn't sure about this release. Not sure at all. The band has been maturing musically over the years, and I have to confess, I was a little worried this would be a fizzling last hurrah for the boys from Britain. Then I saw the "Rock On" video and <perk> WOW! This isn't your grandma's collection of old standards! This stuff ROCKS!! Def Leppard has proven once again that they are so much more than tight musicians - they will go down in history right along with the greats of their caliber and resiliency: AC/DC, Aerosmith, and the Rolling Stones. Rock on, Lep fans! The boys have still got it, and YEAH! is the proof. Can't WAIT to hear what they release in 2007!!Read full review

This CD is ok. Def Leppard has gone downhill since the Stang album. I met the drummer. Real nice guy but they don't have what they had in the 80's anymore. I seen them live and they a couple songs from this CD. They are pretty good live. I know they are more of a rock/pop band, but sometimes it goes to far. 6 out of 10.
I LOVE Def Leppard but I'm not really a big fan of this CD. All I can say is that it's OK. These are old songs that, I guess, influenced them but they just sound old to me. I thought maybe they would put more of what I'm used to from Def Leppard; update them a bit. They just sounded like old songs. If your a fan of the 70s you'll probably enjoy it.
Having been a big fan of Def Leppard, from the very beginning...This is just another great attempt from the group, of past 70's greatest artist,in rock! I highly, recommend this newest addition, for any Def Leppard Fan!
