  • generator that's an alternator

    Nice to keep that vintage look in any old car or rod. It was a bolt in replacement, I just used both wires that went to the generator and connected them together at the one post on the new alternator. At the regulator I connected all the wires to the positive post to bypass the regulator. This was easier than rewiring for the higher capacity of the alternator. The only thing you don't find out until you open the box is that although the new unit looks and fits like the original, it is actually larger in diameter because generators are long and skinny and alternators in general are short and fat.
