The type I have used historically is rectangular with a recessed area for the thumb on one side. This bar is oblong shaped without that recession. However the smell is fantastic and it lathers up beautifully! Highly recommend this seller for great product and great price!

I like using hotel size because larger bars tend to get messy and these small bars hold up well, don't melt, smell clean, and are gentle on skin. While I did get what I ordered I was a little disappointed that the bars I received were not identically shaped to Neutrogena bars in hotels. The hotel bars have rows of bumps on the back for grip. Still, this is a great product and 24 bars should last a long time.
