    An enjoyable read.

I enjoyed the first book ,"the shipyard girls" so much, I have bought 5 more of the books from the series, this being the second one. The story is easy to read, but educational re what women did in the shipyards during the war. The characters are likeable and the story makes you want to keep reading. Super would definitely recommend especially if you like books set during the war.

  • Great story - better if you read the first book

The only thing that spoilt these books are the discrepancies with peoples ages and years. Rosie is 8 years older than her sister so when Rosie is 15 her sister Charlotte is 7 years old. Later in the story when Rosie is 26 it says her sister Charlotte is 12. Also its a bit strange when people in their early 40s are described as elderly, frail and wrinkled - the story is set during the second world war years so those in their 40s were not considered old. Everyone in these stories is beautiful, more beautiful that anyone else in the world has ever been - funny

  • Book

Whole series now complete and it’s a fabulous ‘story’ based on real life and the events of the war. Read the whole lot over again and it’s still a great read.
