I purchased “Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Hardcover by Taschen (EDT)...”, sold by: Great Book Prices Store, on January 27, 2024. The package was left with a shipping partner on Tuesday, January 30, according to the USPS, who received it on February 6. It was delivered to my address on February 7. It arrived securely packaged and the condition of the item was as described. It would be a pleasure to do business with this seller again in the future.

  • A deeper look at the Mingus legacy

I'm a bassist, and I've often said that if you've got your Armstrong, your Ellington and your Mingus, you've got most of the jazz you'll ever need. This book provides a great introduction to both the work and the mind of Charles Mingus for the musician, covering the compelling nuts and bolts of 55 compositions as well as some of the stories behind them. Many of the lead sheets here are not available in the usual fake-books, making this volume a valuable reference for performance, and important works available elsewhere, like the amazing and challenging "Sue's Changes," are here fleshed out with copies of original manuscripts, analysis and background material. An interesting read and great addition to any musician's library.
